CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: The Legislative Council’s leader of opposition Ambadas Danve has penned a letter to the
Maharashtra governor and demanded a high-level inquiry into a series of communal violence incidents that have rocked the Marathwada region and other parts of the state in the past couple of months.
Danve told TOI, “We have a strong suspicion of the ruling government’s role in these clashes taking place one after the other.
A random incident taking place impulsively can be understood, but back-to-back ones in different parts is nothing but a criminal conspiracy. If the state initiates strict action against rioters in one place, it sends a message and acts as a deterrent. But the ruling government is intentionally avoiding stringent action against communal and caste-based violence. This substantiates our suspicion that they are ones behind all that is happening.”
